چکیده

Raman spectroscopy is promising in vivo tool various biomedical applications; moreover, recent years, its use for characterizing articular cartilage degeneration has been developing. It also shown potential scoring the severity of lesions, which could be useful determining optimal treatment strategy during repair surgery. However, effect different injury types on spectra unknown. This study aims to investigate detecting changes due types. Artificial injuries were induced samples using established mechanical and enzymatic approaches mimic trauma-induced natural degeneration. Mechanical damage was surface abrasion (ABR, n = 12) or impact loading (IMP, 12), while three treatments: 30 min trypsin digestion (T30, 90 collagenase (C90, 24 h (C24, 12). obtained from all specimens, partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) used distinguish their respective controls. PLS-DA cross-validation accuracies higher C24 (88%) IMP (79%) than C90 (67%), T30 (63%), ABR (58%) groups. indicates that spectroscopy, combined with multivariate analysis, can discern knowledge clinical decision-making, example, selecting remedy

Changes in Biochemical Parameters Related to Lipid Metabolism Following Lithium Treatment in Rat

Lithium is widely used in medicine as an anti-depressive drug. In spite of abundant literature, questions on the side effects of lithium ions are far from being answered. In this study, the effects of lithium on biochemical parameters related to lipid metabolism were investigated. Male Wistar rats were treated with different doses of lithium for a period of up to 60 days. Blood samples were col...

Using Raman Spectroscopy to Detect Malignant Changes in Tissues

Introduction Accurate, rapid and non-invasive detection and diagnosis of malignant disease in tissues is an important goal of biomedical research. Optical methods, such as diffuse reflectance, fluorescence spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy, have all been investigated as ways to attain this goal. Diffuse reflectance utilizes the absorption and scattering properties of tissues, particularly fr...
